The card machine
Connect your reader so the till charges it — SumUp in Ireland and Spain, Mercado Pago Point and Pix in Brazil.
- 1
The contract and the money are between you and the provider: your own SumUp account and a SumUp Solo reader, or your own Mercado Pago account and a Point. BarbOS only tells the machine what to charge.
- 2
Open Settings → Card machine and follow its steps. SumUp: create an API key in your SumUp account, paste it, and pair the reader. Mercado Pago Point: paste Your Mercado Pago Access Token; a Point is linked to the account in the Mercado Pago app, in integrated (PDV) mode, and then it is listed here on its own.
- 3
At the till, choosing card sends the amount to the reader; the sale is recorded when the reader says it was paid. A sale is never recorded on a payment that did not go through.
- 4
In Brazil, Charge by Pix shows the customer a QR of the amount, through the same Mercado Pago account: they scan it with their bank's app, and the till says when the Pix has arrived.
- 5
Without a connected reader, a card payment is still recorded by hand: take it on your machine and choose card at the till.
- 6
Reports → Card machine lists every payment asked of the machine and what became of it.
