The stamp card
Every so many visits, one free service — counted by BarbOS, followed by the customer.
- 1
Open Settings → Catalogue → Loyalty, under Loyalty and credit. Tick Stamps on, say every how many visits, choose the service given free, and save. It is off until you turn it on, and only visits from that day count: a regular starts from nothing.
- 2
A visit is a sale with a service in it, for a customer named on the sale. At the till, Add the customer: beside their name the sale says “7 of 10”. With a service in the basket and nobody named, a quiet line says “Add the customer to stamp their card.” — never a block, as a walk-in may not want to be named; somebody new is added with + New customer. A visit paid from a package or a membership is not stamped.
- 3
The visit that fills the card says so before it is charged (“This visit fills the card: …”). From the next visit on, the free one waits beside the name (“🎁 Free … waiting”), and a tap there charges the sale with it, as Pay with credit does.
- 4
The customer sees the card drawn on their own page on your booking site: a circle for each visit, the stamped ones ticked, the last one free. They are told twice, never at every visit: at the half (“5 of 10 — halfway to a free …”) and when the card is full.
- 5
The free service is rung at zero: no takings, no VAT. The receipt prints its price struck through, then zero and “Free — loyalty”. On the Day close, where there is one, it stands on a line of its own (“Free (loyalty): 1 service, worth …”), and Reports count the free ones at their price.
- 6
Where the business pays commission, the barber is still paid on the service's full price: the work was done, and the free one is the shop's cost. Their statement in Commissions says so (“incl. … free through loyalty — the shop's”).
- 7
Refunding a visit takes its stamp back; refunding the free one gives it back to the customer. The card never expires.
