The Till's cards and the Calendar's colours

Who is where, on the Till's cards — and what the Calendar's colours say.

  1. 1

Where the bookings reach the counter, the Till shows a card for each barber, always in the shop's own order: In the chair — the customer, the service and until when; Next in N min; Free now — with their next booking, or Ready for a walk-in; and Not working today, last and muted.

  2. 2

On a card In the chair, Charge and the barber's name opens that booking's sale after the PIN, the booked service already in the basket. Tapping the name opens their list, as always. A card Not working today still sells: somebody may come in on their day off.

  3. 3

A customer with no booking: New sale on a card goes straight to the items, after the PIN. Quick walk-in sale, above the cards, asks “Who takes the walk-in?” — whoever is free comes first, then whoever's next customer is furthest off.

  4. 4

+ New booking, in the top bar, books from the Till or from the Calendar. It needs the internet.

  5. 5

The Calendar's colours: lime is In the chair — happening now; a grey outline is Booked; green with its pill is Paid online; orange is an Overlap — two of one barber's at once, “⚠ Double booked” over them; violet is a No-show; faded is Served; red is Needs a look — time nobody works.

  6. 6

A booking from Treatwell takes the same colours and carries a small Treatwell chip. Over the Calendar, the day in one line — Today, how many barbers are in, how many bookings — then the legend: tap a colour to pick those bookings out. A column marked Not working is a day off.

We answer by the next working day.
